Attach web or stop the machine? You don't need to: Optima's autosplicer ensures a continuous supply of all common materials for wound dressings. This keeps the system and thus your production running non-stop.

Cutting and placement
A machine cuts and places materials precisely

Foams, nonwovens, or superabsorbent polymer (SAP): this station cuts and positions all materials with precision. It also compensates for variations in thickness in the process.

Delaminate
A machine delaminates the wound contact layer

In this step, the system delaminates the wound contact layers, which will later come into direct contact with the wound. The process module is oriented to the properties of your materials and, for example, uses temperature support in the delamination of two components.

Laminate
A machine laminates wound care products

The laminating station adapts to any task and laminates multiple webs all at once. Hot lamination is also available.

Contour cutting
A machine cuts foam material into shape

The all-purpose rotary cutting station cuts films, foams, nonwovens, or superabsorbent polymer (SAP). Thanks to zero cutting, it makes the best possible use of the material – minimizing your waste and maximizing your yield. Since the cutting tools are exchanged with the aid of drawers, format changes are carried out in no time.

Product inspection
Inspection system checks wound dressings

Are the cleanliness, size, and alignment of each dressing OK? Integrated inspection systems take over product control. Cameras are also used to perform control tasks.

Sealing
A seal pouch machine packs products into pouches

For sealing and pouch packaging, we offer a variety of high-speed solutions, including 3- and 4-side sealing pouch machines. Whether you use them individually or integrate them into your production line: with the robust, maintenance-free sealing machines, you can pack a wide range of products in different bag shapes and materials.

Seal seam control
A machine checks if the product is correctly placed in the bag

With the automated product-in-seam control, you keep track of everything. This is because the system checks whether your product is correctly positioned in the bag – and is not too close to or even in the sealing seam.

Whether horizontal or upright, the matching stacking unit from Optima will complete your production line. The high-capacity stackers handle up to 1,200 products at the infeed and from 3 to 100 stacks at the outfeed.

Cartoning the products
A machine aligns cartons for medical products in wound care

All system line sections work hand in hand to ensure your products look good in their final packaging. Fully integrated, the cartoners become part of your packaging line. The cartoners pack all formats, from small plasters to large wound dressings. In addition, they offer optional extras such as a printer, brochure inserter, check weigher, or labeler.
