We must aspire to leave our descendants a planet that is in better shape than the way we found it.
We do not just want to be producing, filling and packaging in a highly environmentally, climate-friendly way. We also want to be helping our customers to achieve their own sustainability targets. To put it in a nutshell, we want to set an example in the areas environment, social responsibility and corporate governance. It's an ambitious goal that requires both a comprehensive and a structured approach. To do it, we have defined three lines of action.
Sustainable packaging solutions that make a circular economy possible. The vision involves continually reusing materials to prevent loss.
Machines and systems that operate at maximum efficiency and save resources, and do so throughout the entire product life cycle.
Manage ecologically, fairly, and focused on the long term, and thus drastically reduce the consumption of resources and emissions associated with value creation.
I hope that many companies in Baden-Württemberg follow Optima's example and increase their sustainability and climate protection programs.
The EcoVadis rating agency is the world's leading provider of sustainability ratings, with an international network of more than 100,000 rated companies. DIN EN ISO 14001 is a standard for environmental management systems, one that is accepted and applied worldwide. Key requirements involve the planning, implementation, monitoring and improvement of environmental targets. In 2022, Optima introduced an environmental management system in compliance with DIN EN ISO 14001.
The Carbon Disclosure Project is a non-profit organization founded in London in 2000, with the aim of ensuring that companies and municipalities publish their environmental data such as climate-damaging greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption. We also share our data to create transparency.
Carrying out an energy audit in accordance with DIN EN 16247, i.e. a systematic examination of organizations', plants', buildings' and systems' energy use and consumption, is an important foundation for improving energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
Just what Optima stands for and what drives us on is best shown through personal experience and real-world examples.
So, why not dip into our stories and get to know us a little better?
