Economically fill and attractively package your personal care products for face, skin and hair: Optima makes it possible, flexibly and sustainably. As an engineering company, we have more than 90 years of experience with FMCG products – and therefore always have the demands of your industry in mind. Today these include in particular a short time to market as well as modular and scalable filling and packaging systems – also in terms of secure investment.

This is because shifting purchasing and consumer habits are changing demand. For you, this can mean smaller batches, shorter run times, and sophisticated containers made of thinner or transparent material, for example. To keep you one step ahead in the market, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible – in process technology, automation and service. Keep it simple: with Optima compete solutions, from an individual machine to a turnkey project.

What matters for personal care

Large fill volumes

Built for volume: For personal care products, you need room to grow when it comes to fill volumes– and that's what Optima's systems offer.

Suitable process steps

We design your system according to your requirements with as few process steps as necessary, which means your overall process gains speed and efficiency.

Standardized packaging

Personal care products need simple rather than complex packaging, and can usually get by without outer packaging or inserts.

1. Cleaning
Cosmetic filling line process: machine cleans plastic container

Cleanliness is the foundation for your products' good reputation. That's why you won't make any compromises with Optima's well thought-out cleaning concept:

  • Removes all supplier residues
  • Blow-out and suction of containers (upright, upside down)
  • Simultaneous puck loading is possible
2. Filling
Cosmetic filling line: Filling process

Thanks to exact filling technology, the correct quantity ends up in the container – and nowhere else. Your system will safely process a variety of consistencies such as shampoo, hair wax, cream and body butter. You benefit from our expertise in hot filling and cooling technology. The automated CIP/SIP variant (cleaning-in-place/sterilization-in-place) is especially popular.

  • Problem-free filling of small to very large volumes
  • Quick cleaning of scalable filling modules
  • All common filling technologies can be implemented
3. Robotics/handling
Roboter fills plastic containers

The systems will handle your products and containers with sensitivity. Combined feed solutions are practical – for example a standard feed as bulk material, paired with a partial delivery in the box or tray. During format changes, you will benefit from optimized changeover procedures, especially within a product family.

  • Gentle handling of the containers
  • On-the-fly changeover within product families
  • Flexible feed of your containers
4. Closing
A machine closes glass bottles

The closure tops off your product both in terms of appearance and function. The focus here is on exact and reproducible processes. With Optima, you can use all common closure types, including punching and sealing.

  • Exact alignment and gentle handling of closures
  • High product sealing properties

Labeling

Decoration, information or protection: a label can be all of these things. An integrated labeling module from Optima allows you to place labels on the front or back as well as on the bottom of your product. The module also enables embossing, coding or printing, for example with an inkjet, laser or thermal transfer printer.

Monitoring

Where large quantities are produced quickly, control is paramount. That's why we use cameras and all types of control functions. These include torque checks during the closing process, defect inspection using augmented reality as well applying light to find sources of interference.

Format change

To suit your requirements, we build systems that you can optimally clean and convert in no time. That's especially important because of frequent product or country-specific labeling changes. Optima lets you choose between fully automatic, semi-automatic and manual format changes as well as between adjustable and plug-in applications.

The perfect filling and packaging solution for your personal care products

If you are looking for a coherent overall concept for your personal care products, you will find it at Optima. This is because we listen carefully to you, understand your requirements, recognize potential and develop the optimal solution on this basis. This can mean a single machine or a complete production line.

A line solution starts with inserting the packaging materials into pucks but does not end with the palletizer – because afterwards we support you throughout the entire life cycle. Service includes connecting the system to IT, managing the interfaces and integrating machines of other manufacturers.
