With Armin Dietrich as the new Managing Director, Maier Packaging GmbH is setting the course for continued growth and innovation. The goal is to strategically develop the existing business and provide fresh impetus in the field of sustainable and efficient packaging solutions.

Effective April 1, 2025, Armin Dietrich has taken over as Managing Director of Maier Packaging GmbH. The experienced mechanical engineering expert will drive the expansion of the FFS (Form-Fill-Seal) business, further develop the retrofit segment, and realign the company’s focus towards the Dairy & Food industries. He will also strategically support the fiber business within the Optima Group.

Armin Dietrich brings over 13 years of experience in the international mechanical engineering industry. Most recently, he served as Global Division Director at Kiefel GmbH, where he was responsible for the global expansion of the thermoforming division. His career also includes leadership roles at the Windmöller & Hölscher Group and ENGEL Austria GmbH. With a degree in plastics engineering and additional training at the renowned St. Gallen Business School, he combines in-depth technical expertise with strong strategic management skills.

“Our customers expect highly innovative and reliable machinery partners. With our chipformer technology, we offer a solution that enables both material and cost savings as well as maximum product flexibility,” says Armin Dietrich. “In the future, we intend to focus more strongly on global markets and leverage synergies within the Optima Group to develop sustainable and competitive solutions for our customers.”

A partner for innovative packaging solution

In recent years, Maier Packaging has successfully evolved from a component supplier to a full system provider. Today, the company offers not only high-precision new machines but also retrofit and upgrade solutions that unlock new potential for existing systems. Particularly in the area of chipformer technology, Maier Packaging is setting new standards: customers benefit from significant material savings, increased flexibility, and sustainable concepts that reduce the ecological footprint while enhancing competitiveness.

The appointment of the new Managing Director also marks the end of the collaboration with Peter Grosse, who left the company on March 31, 2025. Alban Hutter has also stepped down from his role as Managing Director at the same time. He will remain with Maier Packaging as Senior Project Manager and will focus on supporting selected key accounts. The company extends its sincere thanks to both for their dedication and important contributions to the positive development of Maier Packaging.
