The OPTIMA packaging group has acquired the Dutch company Total Plant Solution Group B.V. (TPS). With this acquisition, Optima strengthens its capabilities in automation and operational technology (OT) and establishes a local presence in the Benelux countries for the first time. The company, based in Oldenzaal, employs around twenty people and will continue to operate as an independent entity within the Optima Group.
TPS has many years of experience in PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, as well as in network architecture and OT security. The two managing directors, Johan Elzinga and Joep van Heumen, will remain with the company and will actively contribute to its continued development within the group. The close cooperation of recent years, including the deployment of several TPS employ-ees on Optima projects, has demonstrated a strong cultural and technical fit between the two companies.
With this acquisition, Optima not only supports the further development of its own automation capabilities but also creates long-term prospects for the Oldenzaal site. Employees at this location will support global automation and OT topics within the group. In addition, the expansion paves the way for future sales and service activities in the Benelux region.
“By welcoming our new colleagues, we strengthen our capabilities,” says Christoph Müller, CFO of the Optima Group. “Their expertise in automation and OT security helps us reduce capacity constraints and further enhance our international footprint. This acquisition is a well-considered strategic step focused on long-term growth.”
Johan Elzinga, founder and Managing Director of TPS, also sees significant opportunities arising from the integration: “Together with Optima, we can develop our business more quickly and across a broader scope that would not have been possible on our own.”
