Optima Pharma is strengthening its diagnostics sector and will now offer customers complete, turnkey solutions from a single source. By uniting its expertise, the company is responding to the growing demands of the diagnostics market and supporting customers in implementing complex production processes efficiently, safely, and sustainably.

The global diagnostics market has been growing steadily for years - driven by the rising numbers of chronic diseases, greater prevention awareness, and the expansion of point-of-care applications that enable rapid test results directly at the patient's bedside. At the same time, the demands on production processes are increasing: Automation, closed systems, and quality-critical processes are becoming more important.

“Diagnostic products are becoming increasingly specialized, while production processes are becoming more complex and automated,” says Dr. Mike Mohns, Director Diagnostics at Optima Pharma. “For our customers, this means they need a partner who understands their processes holistically and supports them along the entire value chain.”

Comprehensive solutions from a single source

Through the integration of its diagnostic expertise, Optima Pharma is positioning itself as a dedicated and comprehensive solutions provider. Customers benefit from standardized system concepts and customer-specific solutions, up to and including complete integration. The service portfolio includes filling, sealing, and labeling, automated coating processes for microtiter plates, powder dosing, end-of-line handling, and freeze-drying and containment solutions.

A key advantage lies in system integration: Rather than coordinating multiple providers, there is a single point of contact. The result is clearer communication, faster project execution, and the ability for diagnostics companies to meet regulatory demands and launch new production facilities with greater speed and confidence.

New management for the Diagnostics business unit

Dr. Mike Mohns has been leading the diagnostics unit since September 2025. He has more than 20 years of experience in the diagnostics industry and previously worked for well-known companies in Germany, England, France, Switzerland, Singapore, and Taiwan. At Optima Pharma, he is responsible for the strategic development of the diagnostics business and the expansion of integrated production solutions for the global market.
