OPTIMA Packaging Group joins the VDMA's Blue Competence sustainability initiative

The Optima Packaging Group is now a partner of the Blue Competence sustainability initiative launched by the German Engineering Federation ( VDMA ). By joining this initiative, Optima is underscoring its long-term commitment to sustainable business practices and responsible conduct in the mechanical and plant engineering industry.

Blue Competence is the sustainability initiative of the VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and aims to systematically promote sustainability in mechanical and plant engineering as well as to raise awareness of sustainable solutions in the industry. Partners in the initiative are committed to the twelve principles for sustainable action and integrate them into their corporate strategy in a binding manner.

“Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy and our self-image,” explains CEO Dr. Stefan König. “Joining Blue Competence is a logical step for us to make our commitment transparent, network with other companies in the industry, and jointly set the course for a sustainable future in mechanical and plant engineering.”

With its group-wide sustainability strategy “We care for tomorrow,” Optima pursues the goal of holistically combining ecological, social, and economic responsibility. This includes measures for resource efficiency, emission reduction, sustainable supply chains, and the support of employees and social engagement.
