OPTIMA joins the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance

• The Optima Packaging Group has joined the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance.

The Optima Packaging Group has joined the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance and signed a climate protection agreement with the state. In doing so, the company is reaffirming its responsibility for climate protection and supporting the state's ambitious goals of significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and operating in a largely climate-neutral manner by 2040.

The Climate Alliance is a voluntary cooperation between companies and the state of Baden-Württemberg that aims to accelerate the transition to a climate-friendly economy. By signing the agreement, Optima commits itself to implementing concrete measures to reduce emissions, reporting annually on its own greenhouse gas emissions, and making its progress transparent. The agreement is initially valid for ten years and can be extended.

“Sustainability is a central component of Optima's corporate strategy,” explains Sustainability Manager Maren Rotter. "By joining the Climate Alliance, we want to actively contribute to achieving the state's climate goals.

The ceremonial presentation of the certificate took place on November 26, 2025, as part of the “Future made in THE LÄND” congress at the Dieter Schwarz Foundation's education campus in Heilbronn. More than 200 participants discussed corporate climate protection and sustainability. After a welcome address by Environment Minister Thekla Walker, Member of the State Parliament, meteorologist and climate scientist Dr. Insa Thiele-Eich gave a keynote speech on the effects of climate change on the economy and society.
