The Optima Group officially opened its new training center in Schwäbisch Hall with a festive event on Friday, 23.05.2025. The company invested around one million euros in the 1,600 square meter training center – a clear sign of its long-term commitment to promoting young talent.
Optima places great importance on good vocational training. "Optima was already training apprentices in the year it was founded over 100 years ago. We are continuing what began back then and investing in our future today," emphasizes Hans Bühler, Managing Director of the Optima Group.
The training center offers ideal conditions for practical vocational training and modern learning formats. Workshops for trainees in mechatronics and automation technology are located on over 1,000 square meters, complemented by a laboratory for robotics, pneumatics and 3D printing. A gallery with a lounge area, kitchen, table football, table tennis and training facilities round off the space provided.
Focus on commitment and team spirit of the trainees
A special highlight decorates the wall in the entrance area of the training center. In a workshop with graffiti artist Richard Koch, the trainees created a large-scale graffiti artwork. “The graffiti symbolizes the values of good vocational training at Optima: future, innovation and cohesion,” explains Volker Freisinger, Vice President Optima Manufacturing and Commercial Vocational Training Manager.
A place to learn and grow
Peter Klink, First Mayor of Schwäbisch Hall, praised the new center as the “perfect fertile ground for young people to grow personally and professionally”. Elke Döring, Managing Director of the Heilbronn-Franken Chamber of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the importance of Optima as a vocational training provider in the region: "Optima is one of the largest vocational training providers in the region and the commitment of its employees as voluntary IHK examiners is exemplary”.
From October 1st, 2025, Optima will employ a total of 160 trainees and dual students – 30 more than in the previous year. More than half of them are training in mechatronics and automation technology. A total of 16 apprenticeships as well as dual and cooperative study programs are available – including electronics, IT, technical product design and study programs in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or industrial engineering.
