Social engagement with physical exercise

A huge family fun day was organized by Optima for its employees. On Saturday, July 1st 2017 over 2200 employees and their families attended the 'Donor Olympics' at the Optima Sports Field in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. On offer was a lively mix of entertainment, the Schwäbisch Hall Big Band Live, a range of children's activities and various sporting challenges. The varied range of food and drink offerings meant that there was something for everyone. One of the runners produced a crêpe stand that proved to be very popular.  The barbecue and many other epicurean delights were also well received by guests.

The celebrations also involved the inaugural OPTIMA Olympics; a sporting competition for everyone to get involved and win points. Almost 1000 participants collected 77,848 points. Each point corresponds to 10 euro cents, making a total of 7784 euros. A very worthwhile donation to the German Bone Marrow Registry, that was rounded up to 10,000 euros on the authorization of Dr. Georg Pfeifer.

Representing the Bone Marrow Registry were Jörg Pfänder, Mandy Uhlig and Thomas Fischer, themselves also lifesaving donors.

Optima would like to thank the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, the competitors taking part, and all the helpers, suppliers and partners for their help and support. Thanks to the support of everyone attending, this special day also helped fund the valuable work of the German Bone Marrow Registry.
