Maximum flexibility for modern packaging concepts

Efficient Production of Paperboard Packaging

The requirements for packaging are constantly changing. Shorter product life cycles, smaller batches, and increasing environmental requirements demand flexible production processes.

Paperboard Forming enables the processing of a wide variety of paperboard materials without being tied to a specific supplier. The open system provides maximum freedom in the selection of barrier and coating technologies and supports the processing of PPWR-compliant and EPR-optimized materials.

Thanks to rapid format and design changeovers, new products, seasonal variants, or limited editions can be produced economically. Different geometries such as round, square, or oval packaging can be realized, as well as customized closure solutions and additional features.

The package bottom is inserted using pre-cut material or die-cut directly from a roll and fed into the machine. To ensure maximum stability from the very beginning, it is securely bonded to the sidewall.

Forming the Bottom and Top Rim

To ensure optimal functionality and maximum product protection, the bottom and top rim are formed or rolled according to the packaging design. Optionally, an additional smoothing process creates the ideal conditions for the subsequent sealing of the membrane.

Product Filling and Final Sealing

The product is filled using the most appropriate dosing technology based on its specific requirements. Additional process steps such as vacuuming, gas flushing, and membrane sealing can be integrated as needed. The package is then securely sealed, ensuring optimum product protection and shelf life. This creates a flexible packaging solution for a wide range of products and applications.

Closing

Finally, the package is closed with the appropriate closure solution. Options range from snap-on and plug-in lids made of fiber-based materials, plastic, or metal, and can be supplemented with a sealed membrane or integrated perforation where required.

Prepare the Carton Blank

The starting point for every paperboard packaging solution is the carton blank. Pre-printed carton blanks with sealing and barrier layers are individually fed into the machine, where they are separated and prepared for the forming process.

The carton blank is formed into a sleeve and sealed. Depending on the material used, different sealing technologies are applied, including ultrasonic, heat, or cold sealing. This process creates the sidewall of the paperboard package.

Turnkey solutions for the Paperboard Production

From packaging production to end-of-line technology

Integrated line solutions connect all process steps of paperboard packaging production into one seamless system, from package forming and filling to sealing and end-of-line technology. This continuous workflow ensures perfectly coordinated production processes and delivers greater efficiency across the entire packaging line. A key efficiency advantage comes from the consistent inline production of containers: instead of transporting and storing pre-formed packages, only flat carton blanks need to be handled.

This significantly reduces logistics and operating costs while providing maximum flexibility for design modifications without delays caused by external sourcing. Product changeovers can also be managed reliably and efficiently. The result is a dynamic, cost-effective, and future-ready packaging line designed to meet evolving market demands.
