Every product places unique demands on its packaging. While some applications require protection against moisture, grease, or oil, others need advanced barriers against oxygen and water vapor. Selecting the right barrier technology is therefore essential for product protection, shelf life, and packaging performance.
At the same time, modern packaging solutions must meet increasing expectations for recyclability, compostability, and regulatory compliance. By combining the right materials with the appropriate barrier technologies, packaging concepts can be developed that deliver the required functionality while fitting into established circular economy systems.

The right barrier technology for your application
Not every application requires a high-barrier solution. For many packaging formats, protection against moisture, grease, or oil is the primary concern. With Prespray technology, Dry Molded Fiber and Paper Thermoforming solutions can be specifically equipped with these functional properties. Applied during the manufacturing process, Prespray creates the foundation for product-specific barrier concepts right from the start.
Typical applications:
When products are particularly sensitive to oxygen or moisture, high-barrier solutions become essential. Lamination enables the integration of high-performance barrier films into fiber-based packaging, creating the conditions for extended shelf life and reliable product protection. Depending on the intended disposal route, recyclable, compostable, or PPWR-compliant material concepts can be implemented.
OPTIMA offers a specially developed high-speed technology that can either be integrated into the OPTIMA FiberOne platform or operated as a stand-alone solution. The technology processes a wide range of film types, ensures consistently high lamination quality, and is suitable for demanding packaging designs featuring complex geometries or deep draw ratios. Various cutting technologies are also available to optimize the interaction between packaging and product protection.
Typical applications:
Some applications require specific surface characteristics or protective properties that are best applied after the forming process. Post-Spray technology enables targeted coating of packaging components, expanding the functional capabilities of fiber-based packaging concepts.
Our Post-Spray solutions allow sprayable coating materials to be applied precisely and uniformly. This makes it possible to add enhanced barrier properties or create specific surface functionalities tailored to the application.
