Shipping & Receiving Assistant

Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Assistant provides support to the Team Leader –Shipping/Receiving.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares shipments by packaging parts and creating shipping notices
  • Confirms incoming shipments to their packing lists
  • Accurately monitors all parts movement and participates in the annual physical count of inventory
  • Communicates with other departments regarding shipments
  • Follows instructions and duties as requested by supervisor

Supervisory Responsibility
The Shipping/Receiving assistant has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
This is largely a physical role. This would require the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs, and
bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in coordination with our company “core hours” as noted in our Employee Handbook. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma required
  • One year factory related experience in shipping and receiving
  • Forklift experience preferred
