Field Service Technician - Isolator Technology

Job Summary

With locations and customers all over the world, Optima Machinery Corporation designs and builds packaging and filling machines including complete production lines for pharmaceutical, consumer, nonwovens and life science products. Our machines specialize in a variety of products and processes including, syringes, vials, freeze drying, toilet paper, wet wipes, chemicals, cosmetics, coffee, snack foods, transdermal patches, oral filmstrips, and more. The Field Service Technician position supports one of the Optima Divisions in a service role pertinent to the operations of that division. Previous experience in the mechanical field of maintenance required. Additional experience in calibration of instrumentation and Isolator technology is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs service and maintenance of OPTIMA equipment in the United States and Canada.
  • Travels to customer sites to install, maintain, inspect, and repair OPTIMA equipment.
  • Calibration, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and components on OPTIMA equipment at customer sites.
  • Follows instructions and duties as requested by Service Account Manager.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Candidate must read & speak the English language.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a production environment of a customer site.  Adhering to the safety measures of the customer’s plant and working both independently as well as a team effort.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hourly position.  The hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, but during customer trips – these hours/days may vary.

Travel
The travel requirements for this position are approximately 70-80%.

Required Education and Experience
  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year technical college or 5 years previous experience maintaining equipment or similar.
  • Experience in Isolator and Cleanroom technology and practices is ideal.
  • Calibration experience is preferred.
  • SAP experience beneficial.
