Field Service Specialist

Job Description

Optima Machinery Corporation, Green Bay, WI, is seeking a Field Service Specialist. This position will supervise and commission complex Optima Machinery installations; provide production support to customers who already own OPTIMA pharma equipment, which can require work at customer sites to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical machine failures and errors; analyze customer’s production and quickly provide solutions that will increase levels of production in a cost-effective manner for the customer; train the customer’s personnel in both electrical and mechanical aspects of the machinery; apply knowledge of the interrelationships of the time-pressured fill module; establish the parameter settings with the customer according to product requirements; determine recommended maintenance schedules for particular machinery and components as well as spare-parts replacement schedules; supervise and consult on machinery modifications, either to repair customer’s equipment or upgrade based on new engineering development; modify components by process of welding and/or machining; troubleshoot on PLCs, specifically Allen Bradley and Siemens brands; and read and follow IEC electrical diagrams. Domestic travel required approximately 55% of the time and international travel required approximately 20% of the time, to train on equipment, attend Factory Acceptance Testing, and support customers. This position reports to Optima Machinery Corporation in Green Bay, WI, but may work remotely.

Qualifications

Requires 4 years of experience, which must include: 4 years of experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components of machinery; 3 years of experience modifying components using welding and/or machining techniques for precise machinery; 3 years of experience troubleshooting issues on PLCs, specifically Allen Bradley and Siemens brands; 1 year of SAP experience; and 1 year of experience in Programming/PLC Logic.
